Our Animals

In the Sty

Our pigs are Saddleback crossed Pietrain. They are a large animal that give a good fat to meat ratio. We keep them outside all year, but they are in concrete stys in the winter months so we avoid destroying their grazing

In the Field

Our grazing animals include sheep, cattle and goats.

The sheep are cross bred from Mules (great mums) crossed with more muscled rams such as Suffolk and Texels.

We have two types of cow, Dexter, a traditional smallholders cow for milk and meat. We also have Sussex cows because we like them they are hardy and produce a nice meat.

We have also built up a pedigree herd of Boer Goats. We acquired 4 pregnant does in December 2020 and have since purchased our first buck and as a result herd has expanded. Our herd are accredited pedigree stock.
